A Year-Long Initiatory Mentorship
The Living Spiral of
Inner Alchemy
For practitioners and conscious leaders who have done the work, and are ready to live what they know, fully embodied while in deep relationship with the rhythms and laws of nature.
"I had already done a lot of inner work, but this allowed me to go deeper, into my emotional body, my patterns, and what was actually holding me back from moving forward."
"There was a kind of intimacy with the element of water that created a real relationship, I don't feel alone anymore. It feels like something I can live with and return to."
Devoted to depth, with grounded consistency, self-trust, and embodied coherence…
More insight isn't what's missing ~ you're ready for a way to harmonize what you already know, in real time, in relationship with the living rhythms of life, as your living path.
The Invitation
A year-long initiatory mentorship for heart-led leaders, practitioners, wayshowers and those looking to find a deeper sense of home within all of life.
Weaving Daoist Five Phase wisdom, somatic movement, and seasonal ceremony into a living path of embodied, relational presence within the web of life.

You feel the pull of deeper Earth-based embodiment.
You understand, in your whole body, that we are meant to live in a deeper relationship with all that nourishes us. And you carry a quiet frustration because the dominant culture creates so much separation and distance from that embodiment.
Most of what is available to you either belongs to a tradition that is not yours to claim, or sits at the level of concept rather than genuine daily inhabitation and language.
You are not looking to borrow someone else's belonging. You are looking to find your own deep sense of belonging within the web. To let the seasons, the elements, the turning of the cosmos become a navigation system that lives in your cells.
That kind of belonging is cultivated, season by season, in genuine relationship with living systems, until the memory returns to your bones and becomes the root of your seeing.
"I've known about the significance of water before, but this time around, there was a kind of intimacy with it that created this relationship with water. It's like a very personal relationship. Now it's like I don't feel alone."
The Gap
Between Knowing and Living
Retreats open something in you and awaken a potential. Courses offer language. Therapy helps you understand your patterns. None of them can give you what only moving through the energetic seasons can: the slow, irreversible reorganization of how you actually perceive and move through the world.
You understand this. And you are ready for the deeper integration. The kind that metabolizes in the body, that holds you in genuine relationship with yourself, with life, with the moment as it changes. That kind of integration does not become a perspective you hold. It becomes the ground you stand on. A living intelligence that orients you from within, rooted in the wider web of life.
There is a difference between understanding that the earth is alive and perceiving it that way. Between knowing the Five Energetic Phases with their alchemical relationships and feeling them move through your body, your relationships, your experiences.
"I had known about these teachings before, but this made them real, something I could actually feel in my body and live with."
"This brought a deeper embodiment and allowed me to move forward in areas I had been stuck in for a long time."
"The teachings are incredibly deep, but shared in a way that feels accessible and grounded, something I could actually integrate into my life."
The Living Spiral of Inner Alchemy follows the ancient Daoist navigational wisdom that man follows Earth and Earth follows the Heavens. When you learn to read those maps with your body, your mind and your spirit, you cannot lose yourself.
"These teachings are the kind where you keep coming back, and every time you come back, a different piece lands with you based on where you're at in your own cycles."
"Every time I would do a week's teaching, it would show up in my life."
"The practices helped me stay with emotions instead of running away, to hold space for them and begin to see them as teachers."
"I was able to turn inward and meet parts of myself I had been avoiding, and begin transforming them in a real way."

Your Guide
Through the Spiral
Sonja Alina den Elzen R.Ac

Sixteen years ago, Sonja Alina den Elzen encountered the Daoist Five Transformations through shiatsu training. What began as intellectual fascination became, over years of genuine practice, something that could not be unlearned: a way of perceiving the world through the relational lens of elemental intelligence, attuned to the rhythms and cycles of life.
That shift came from moving beyond study. It became embodied through movement, through feeling the meridians awaken in her body, through cultivating deep relationship with nature, befriending forests and waters through seasons, in reciprocity with the gifts of nature each season, foraging, wild camping, through watching the Five Transformations reveal themselves in food, in emotional health, in the rhythms of relationships and seasons and the stages of a life.
She is a licensed acupuncturist of eight years, a Daoist martial arts practitioner of seven, yoga teacher of fourteen years, a ceremonial and sound artist, and somatic guide. She created the Living Spiral of Inner Alchemy for those ready to dive deeper, informed by her own path.
The original connection is always there. This journey offers you a way back to it through your own self knowing and cultivation.
"I feel that she holds a lot of deep roots, a wisdom she has explored through her own life and brought through her own being as a distillation... in a way that feels really rooted and grounded."
Voices
From the Spiral
"When I first started, I wasn't sure what to expect. I just said yes.
There are practices that are now in my medicine basket that I get to carry forward and share with others. Every time I would do a week's teaching, it would show up in my life in an uncontrolled kind of way. I had a dream one day, and in that dream my ancestors came and gave me a gift and a sense of support. I woke up and had to text my friends just to remember it. And then I did the lesson for that week, and in the workbook, Sonja had talked about what gifts do your ancestors give you. So I feel like it was working in my life as a whole.
This winter felt useful for me. I felt like I was in alignment with the wisdom of the season, versus resisting or rejecting it.
I have known about the significance of water before, but this time around there was a kind of intimacy with it that created a real relationship with water. Now it's like I don't feel alone. The elementals are always there, which means we are always supported and connected. I think about this epidemic of loneliness in the modern world and I found it really powerful to realize water can be a powerful companion that is always present and has so many teachings. It's alive.
These teachings are the kind where you keep coming back, and every time you come back, a different piece lands with you based on where you are in your own cycles."
"My name is Leslie. I have found a lot of meaning and teaching in connecting to the natural rhythms that move through us and the world around us. I felt a strong call to journey deeper with a curiosity of what that could hold.
I deeply appreciate Sonja and her embodied wisdom. I feel that she holds a lot of deep roots, a wisdom she has explored through her own life and brought through her own being as a distillation of the embodiment practices and teachings she has received. She shares in a way that is really digestible, accessible, and rooted. There is a great multitude of medicine she has come into contact with, and she brings it through in a way that is paced, so I could really be with the teachings without becoming overwhelmed.
This season allowed me to really turn inwards. Through the practices, the journal prompts, and many different avenues, there was an opportunity to slow down and create an inner stillness, to reflect and go into my own inner world. To look at the themes around fear, how that was living in my body, the old stories I had been holding on to, and find ways to heal aspects of that fear that were no longer serving me.
I feel an excitement and curiosity for what each phase will offer. Each season holds such deep and distinct medicine."
"I had already had my own spiritual practices, but this allowed me to go deeper. It's nice when someone else guides you.
Fear that was ruling my life and stopping me from moving forward was definitely brought to the surface, which allowed me to go deeper and understand how working with the elements is also applicable to working with all aspects of who we are and how we weave wisdom together.
I found the container with Sonja very calming, grounded, and peaceful. Also just like permission to go inwards. It's been quite honoring being inwards and utilizing the space, the journal prompts, the deeper reflection. It has been really lovely.
I feel it contributed to my deeper embodiment and encouraged me to complete offerings I had been working on, to go deeper in those and come out a more rooted person."
"This program was so incredibly powerful. I'm forever grateful for Sonja's wisdom, patience and way of conveying her teachings. The combination of movement practices, meditations and classes all blended in such a complementary way. I have done many courses, followed many protocols and programs in the past, and by far, this has produced the most benefit. A clear container emerged whereby healing and growth was rapid. Wow. Gratitude."
"I have a new perspective on the way I can be present with myself and my emotions and the wonders of nature as the year unfolds. Through journaling, meditation, sound journeys and movement I have been supported in channelling emotions rather than bottling them up. I feel fortunate having had this experience."
"Throughout the program, I gained knowledge and understanding of my body and its relationship with nature, throughout seasons. Through reflection and examination of lifelong emotional limitations, I am learning to accept myself and take responsibility for the choices I make.
The most valuable thing I have learned from working with Sonja is how to better nourish my body, respect my mind and choose to live my life in service to my heart.
Sonja is a talented and compassionate practitioner and guide. She creates space for wherever you are and supports you in living a life that is yours."
